Come Dine with Me Canada - Season 4 - Episode 37 - Block 8: Atavia Surtees
It's day two in a week long culinary challenge where five foodies duke it out for their chance at $1000. This week is all about the swine as the participants are tasked with including bacon into their dishes. OINK!. Tonight, Caribbean princess Atavia Surtees is taking the drivers seat for the night. Joining her around the table is flamboyant showman Sherwin Modeste, gregarious Greek Effie Tsergas, Gosling's doppelganger Greg Moar and hard-core historian Jamie Patterson.
Atavia starts her evening off by "lei-ing" her guests…it is a Caribbean theme after all! Everyone sits down to the table ready to go hog wild for Atavia's Jamaican/Italian appetizer, escovich and Mediterranean pizza topped with spinach, feta and prosciutto. Seems like the challenge of using bacon was a bit confusing for Atavia. After a bit of a wait the antsy guests are finally served the main, jerk chicken breast stuffed with savory bacon jam served with coconut scented basmati rice and mango and mint salsa. Night two in the tropics is coming to a close but not before the dessert, Jamaican Christmas cake served with fresh fruit, whipped cream and candied bacon.
Will the Caribbean princess reign supreme? Or will her lack of bacon inspired dishes get low votes from the judges?
